COCKROACH

Cockroaches are insects that are commonly found in houses and food outlets. They prefer warm, dark and moist conditions found within buildings. They feed on things from human food to leftovers/food debris found on the floor. Cockroaches also carry bacteria on their body that can be potentially harmful to humans. They are also linked to allergic reactions in humans.

Some of the important cockroach species are :

American Cockroaches
are large in size and are red-brown, 3-4 cm long. We see them most often around our homes, in cabinets, bin chutes, sewers and garbage dumps. They feed on a variety of food, decaying organic matter is preferred. They also feed on book bindings, manuscripts, clothing, or paper etc. Syrup and other sweets are also attractive to them.

German Cockroaches
are small, 1-2 cm long. It is amber-brown and are weak fliers. It likes warm and damp environment and is found in restaurants, hotels, buses, grocery stores and other sites where food is stored, prepared and in food serving areas. They can be carried from place to place, in bagged potatoes and onions, beverage cartons, grocery bags and the folds of clothing etc. The German cockroach is a general feeder but is particularly attracted to fermented foods and beverage residues (e.g., beers spills).

COCKROACH TREATMENT

Take these steps to get rid of roaches:

  1. Start by vacuuming up all the roaches you can. This provides immediate population control.
  2. Follow with a good, professional-grade cockroach bait.
  3. Cockroaches are attracted to the highly palatablebait matrix, which, on consumption delivers an insecticidal dose of emamectin benzoate. Cockroaches that feed on the bait will return to their harborage where the active ingredient may be passed to other cockroaches, including nymphs that do not actively forage for food. Thus a lager number of cockroaches than those originally feeding on the bait are controlled.

RAT

rat Rats are rodents that cause major problem around the world. They feed on all kinds of food, rubbish areas, they can carry and contaminate the food with their urine, faeces, and saliva.

Where to Check for Rats Inside a Building

Lofts & attic spaces - look for shredded loft insulation, chewed items and rat droppings (rat poo) in corners and inside items like cardboard boxes.
Kitchens & laundries - look behind appliances like cookers, washing machines, dishwashers and tumble dryers. In fact, check any gaps where pipework or cables enter your property from outside.
Out of sight
 - and possibly out of mind locations, such as crawlspaces, suspended ceilings and even cavity walls can be squeezed into by young rats.

ANT

rat Ants are social insects and live in colonies. They normally travel to forage for food and leaves pheromones (scent trails) for other ants to follow. Start from egg , then larva ,pupa and finally
Adults.

ANT  TREATMENT

  1. Residual spraying with non repellent insecticide are commonly used to control ants but in fact it is less effectiveness because of this direct insecticide treatment on foraging ants will not eliminate a colony.

  2. Insecticide can also be sprayed into cracks and crevices to control ants.

  3. Use of baits is the best approach to control ants. The ants will feed on the bait and bring it back to shared with other members of the colony. Thus the insecticide able to affect the entire colony and eventually eliminate the colony.

FLY

rat These flies are most unwelcome, especially when you are in the midst of enjoying a delicious meal. Do not underestimate the houseflies. It can be highly detrimental to human health. They feed on foodstuff via the most unhygienic way of salivating on food before ingesting it, thereby leaving bacteria on the remaining food. This can cause the spread of diseases such as cholera, typhoid fever and tuberculosis. The average lifespan of a fly is 1 month, and a female fly can produce more than 500 eggs in 4 days.

FLY TREATMENT

Sanitation & Fly Control

Sanitation is critical in a good fly management program. The goal of sanitation is to remove or prevent any medium where fly larvae will develop. It's also important to remove things that are attractive to adult flies, such as garbage and animal waste. Moisture is a critical factor in any fly breeding material. Good drainage is also important, where possible.

  • Keep garbage cans and dumpsters clean. Invade Bio Foam is an all-natural product, a probiotic used to spray on the leftover organic debris in dumpsters. Soldier Fly larvae are commonly found around dumpsters and garbage cans. Keep tight lids on the garbage cans. Flies are attracted to odors. Keep garbage cans as far away from doors as possible to keep them from moving into the structure.

  • Repair window screens and doors. Use mesh screens on openings in the building. Where doors must be kept open for customers, trucks, etc., outfit the doors with air curtains. Air curtains can prevent fly entry if the velocity is 1,600 feet per minute or higher.

  • Pick up pet waste in the yard. Flies love to breed and lay eggs on this material because of the moisture content.

  • In-home kitchens, restaurants, and commercial kitchens, drain flies can become a problem. An excellent product to treat home drains and restaurant drains is Invade Bio Treatment Gel. With microbes, this all-natural product eats the leftover scum in the drains.

  • Dead rodents and birds can increase a fly problem. Remove the carcasses, because flies lay eggs on decomposing rodents and fowl. The eggs become maggots (larvae), and the maggots become adult flies.

  • Do not overwater indoor potted plants. The soaked soil will provide a perfect breeding area for gnats. Keep the pots well-drained.

  • Keep outdoor areas cleaned. Clean away any soiled bedding, decaying plant, straw animal matter.

MOSQUITO

rat Mosquitoes are insects that are responsible for the transmission of many diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, yellow fever, Chikugunya and Japanese Encephalitis. Only female mosquitoes suck blood. Male mosquitoes feed on the nectar of flowers.
The three common group of mosquitoes are Culex, Aedes & Anopheles.

Culex mosquito is light brown in color and bites in the middle of the night. These mosquitoes breed in organically-polluted water such as in drains choked with litters. They are known to transmit diseases such as Filariasis or Elephantiasis and Japanese Encephalitis. Their midnight biting habit are considered major nuisance by human.

Aedes mosquito is a known vector of dengue fever, dengue haemorrhagic fever and Chikugunya. Typically, it is black with white spots and stripes on its body and legs. The Aedes mosquito biting active time is at dawn and dusk of the day. It breeds in household containers such as flower vases, plates, beneath plant pots, water storage jars or pails where clean water is present. Outdoors, it breeds in roof gutters, tree holes, and discarded containers on the grounds when these collect rain water.

Anopheles mosquito is the most important vector of malaria. Typically, it has white or rusty-red spots on its wings. It bites during the night. The Anopheles mosquito breeds mainly in ground seepage, streams, ponds and swampy areas. Due of their transmitting ability of malaria disease, controlling them is very important. Normally found in places like the outskirt of the cities and in native settlements.

MOSQUITO TREATMENT

  1. Can be used as an adulticide and larvicideii)
  2. Adult Mosquitoes - Insecticide treatment with Thermal Fogging (oil based)
or Misting (water based) will be encouraged at prime harborage areas.
  3. Larvae – Larvaciding using insecticide application will be performed at
stagnant water areas to prevent mosquitoes from breeding and to
     knockdown any living larvae.

BED BUG

rat

Bed bugs are small parasitic insects that feed on human blood. While they are a public health concern, bed bugs are not known to transmit disease through their bites. Bed bugs use a small tube-like structure called a proboscis to pierce the skin and drink a person’s blood. The pests are most active when humans are asleep, during the night and early morning. An estimated one in five Americans have personally dealt with a bed bug infestation or knows someone who has encountered the pests.

Bed bugs can bite anywhere on the body where there is skin. Typically, bites tend to occur on areas exposed during sleeping, such as:

  • • neck
  • • face
  • • hands
  • • shoulders
  • • arms
  • • legs

bedbug2 Many people do not feel the bite itself or develop clear symptoms other than the dots where the bug bit and some minor, surrounding inflammation and irritation. Others are considered hypersensitive to bites and develop more severe symptoms.

TERMITE

rat

Termite baits consist of paper, cardboard, or other acceptable termite food, combined with a slow-acting substance lethal to termites. Some bait stations are installed below ground out in the yard, and others are positioned within the structure in the vicinity of active termite mud tubes or feeding sites. Below-ground stations typically contain untreated wood until termite activity is detected inside the stations. Then the wood is replaced with active ingredient treated material-the bait itself on. Until recently, the only methods available for subterranean termite control were the traditional barrier treatments using large amounts of chemicals. There are alternative termite control strategies; baiting systems are the most promising as to replace barrier treatments.

Termite baits are a whole different concept. With this approach, small amounts of material known as the toxicant knocks out populations of termites foraging in and around the structure.

Some homes may have only baits as a stand alone treatment; others may be integrated with liquid or barrier treatments. Using a baiting system with barrier treatments will allow a reduction of amounts of pesticide use.

No termite control method can guarantee you will never get termites. Termite control may include a combination of one or more of these methods, a baiting system, termiticide treatment, moisture control, foaming, removal of earth wood contact, etc

  • Holes will be drilled along walls.
  • Termiticide solution will be injected into each hole according to manufacturer's recommendation.
  • A volume of 5 litres of termiticide solution will be injected into each hole.
  • Injection will be carried out at 21-25 psi pressure for maximum coverage.
  • Each treatment can only last for 3-5 years.
  • The termiticide recommended is either chlorpyrifos or imidacloprid.

Pre-Construction – Chemical Termite Control Method ( For Construction Base )

  • Ground soil treatments are applied as a preventive measure against subterranean termites.
  • Offer a chemical seal barrier between the soil and the building floor, which is intended to block all potential routes of termite entry from below the ground, such as cold joints in the concrete, crevices at plumbing stub outs and open spaces for other utility lines.

Treatment Method:
Stage 1. Power-spray to drench the foundation hole before concreating.
Stage 2. Power-spray to drench the 40mm soil border around the ground-beams and columns at the correct application per meter run.
Stage 3. Power-spray to drench soil before lean concreting of ground floor slabs. Power spraying to the compacted soil surface at the rate of 5 litres of termiticide at the correct concentration for every sq. metre.
Stage 4. Power-spray to drench soil surface at the correct concentration for every meter square before concreting apron area
